A Boys Best Friend.............

Another reason my son absolutely loves going to visit his Italian side of the family is that not only does he get to see his Nonno (grandfather) and various aunts, uncles and cousins, he also gets to spend time with his very best friend in the world......................namely Lulú, his cousins dog.............

She really is the sweetest little thing, and she loves him as much as he loves her!

Oh No, Not Again.............

As you know from my previous posts I have a Cath Kidston shop very close to my office, well temptation got the better of me again today and I just had to pop in for a little visit, as usual that was the first mistake, well it would be rude to go in and not buy anything wouldn't it ?  I have long coveted a CK bag and today was the day that I finally decided which to buy, here it is.................

I am really very pleased with it and as the husband flew off very early on Valentines day and forgot all about it, I think this will more than make up for his oversight !

I also found these lovely Rose guest soaps in my shopping basket.........

I thought that a few of them would look lovely in a dish in my guest bedroom, what do you think ? 

And She's Back.................

After a very quick couple of days in Italy visiting the husbands family I am now back to the usual routine..... Husband and son had a fantastic week and were very lucky with the weather, spring has sprung in Puglia !

Here are a few pictures of the lovely places that we have visited.

This is Brindisi, we fly into here, the husbands family are about a 20 minute drive away.

This is the local beach, a 10 minute drive from home.

This is Alberobello, a little village of Trulli, houses with conical roofs.

This is Ostuni, perched on a hill and very beautiful.

Last but not least is Lecce, great for shopping and full of very old buildings, beautiful.

These are just some of the places we have been to, as you can imagine there are many many more and all are fantastic, hopefully you may get to visit there one day !

Up, Up and Away...............

Tomorrow morning I will be flying off to Italy to meet up with my boys who have been with my in-laws since Sunday last, I will be sure to take plenty of photos to post upon my return next week.  Here are a couple I found on the internet of where I will be..........

On My Own 2 ...............

Well the boys went off on Sunday morning, a quick whip through the house to get it up straight and...............relax!!!  I have decided to put the crochet cushion on a back burner and take on something a little bigger, I have decied to make a pram blanket for the husbands nephew, they are having a baby girl due in June / July, this is what I've done so far...................... what do you think?

My lovely sister bought me these beautiful Hyacinths for my kitchen window. Aren't they fab?

On My Own! ................

On Sunday morning husband and son are jetting off for a visit to the Italian side of the family, of course I will miss them both tremendously but it also means that as long as I do all the chores in the monring I have 4 evenings to do whatever I like, my money would be on the crochet, I can watch what I like on TV with a lovely glass of wine by my side.....

I will be joining them in Italy on Thursday so will also get to see the husbands family, will keep you all up to date to let you all know how I'm enjoying the peace and quiet !!

Spending Spree ..................

Hello again fellow bloggers.

Been a bit naughty this week,  I have a little 'pop-in' Cath Kidston shop not far from my office and as the weather was miserable I decided that I needed cheering up a little so I took a stroll and did 'pop-in' to CK, oh what a mistake, I bought a couple of small things, new glasses case and a little pouch for my crochet hooks and needles, but ended up coming back to work and having a look on the website, another mistake, I ended up buying some wine glasses for me...........

 And a lovely tea set for my very special sister !

Well worth it but I won't be able to look again for a while as it all too tempting .

How did it go !...................

My last post was about me wanting to learn to crochet, well as you know I got together all the things I needed and set off.  I have never been one to sit and study for too long so I looked at how to do the basic chain stitch from one book and then how to do a triple stitch from another and after a couple of false starts, having to undo and redo etc etc etc I finally managed to do these.....

I know they are far from perfect but I have to say I was actually extremely pleased with myself, I realise that this is only the beginning, but with a few more I will at least have enough to make the coveted cushion.

I will of course update you as my little project progresses.

Something New ....................

Being a competant knitter I have for a very long time wanted to learn how to crochet, that time has now arrived and I have purchased this book.

Hopefully I'll soon be able to whip up a lovely babys blanket or maybe the odd granny square, you never know I may even be able to do enough to make a small offering for my cats.............

If anyone has any advice it would be greatfully received. I'll let you know how I go!
