Half Term with Master M......

Being half term I thought I would take a couple of days off to spend with Master M, I don't always have enough holiday to do this but managed to hold onto a couple of days this year, I was hoping that Mr O'Leary would reduce Ryanair flight prices once the holiday had started so that Master M and I could pop down to the caravan but alas when I checked it was £600.00 so definitely not paying that!

Anyway my friend called and asked if we would like to spend the day at her house so that the boys could play and we could get some much needed sun, they have a lovely place in the country about a 15 minute drive from us with extensive grounds, just perfect for two 9 year olds, Master M had a fantastic time riding the motorbikes, playing tennis and generally running around with Master G and causing mayhem, Master M is in the red top............

We had a lovely lunch on the patio, took the dogs for a walk around the lake, all very relaxing just what is needed on a day off from work.

Until next time...

Sugar and Spice....................

Finally now Kelly has let the cat out of the bag so to speak we can all blog about it.

Congratulations to Kelly and James, we are all so looking forward to the wedding and a few months later to the birth of our little Boppli (Amish for baby), I won't go on too much as I'm sure my sister Angel will be mentioning it also, but suffice it to say we are all over the moon and Master M can't wait.

Luckily Kelly is nowhere this big yet!!

Love to you both on all your news, we all love you.

Tante etc etc

New Van

Sorry it's taken so long for this post, but since getting back from Venice it's been a bit of a crazy week all in all.  My brother in law and I had a great but busy weekend sorting our our 3 caravans, Friday the weather was fantastic as you will see from the pictures below, however, Saturday it was atrocious, it rained solidly all day, didn't matter too much as we needed to go shopping and I wanted to sort out the inside of my caravan, my brother in law after finishing all his chores decided to pay a little visit to the sauna, a favourite passtime of his.

Last year while on holiday we deicided to upgrade our caravan, we used to have a 4.5m van which was lovely but after 10 years seemed a bit small, anyway, we were out there last year and was shown this caravan, 6.2m long 2.4m wide, much bigger than our old one so with a bit of tooing and froing we decided to buy it, here she is.

Below is a picture of the inside of the awning, (this is the tidy end the other end is full of the table, bikes etc that are outside when we are there), I do have some nice curtains for the front of the unit which hide all the clutter but they were playing hide and seek, I couldn't find them, I'm sure they will turn up at some point, probably when I'm putting everything away at the end of the holiday!

Here are a couple of pictures of the inside.

This is our pitch, Angel is next door to the left.  Kelly is a little further up.

I can't wait to get back out there.  Hope Ryanair reduce their prices half term week so I can book a sneeky couple of days away with Master M..........................Hmmm

Have a great week everyone.

Up Up and Away.................again

This time I'm off to Cavallino, Venice with my brother in law.  We are flying out tomorrow evening for the weekend to the campsite where we go for our holidays to get our caravans set up for the summer.  Will post some photos next week.

Hope you all have a fab weekend, I'm sure my sister (Angel) will as she is looking after Master M so that Mr RP can go to work.

Until then.....

A Very Good Read..........

I'm sure many of you like reading, I know we all do.  A particular favourite of ours is the author Wanda Brunstetter, her books are novels about the Amish people and their way of life, very interesting, inspirational and uplifting, if you've never tried any why not have a go, my dear postman delivered these to me yesterday.

I can't wait to start reading them, these are the 2nd and 3rd books in the Indiana Cousins series, Angel and I read the 1st one on holiday last year, they are available from Amazon.

Take care for now

Rockin' All The Way................

Most of you probably don't know but I'm a bit of a rock chick and as you do all know I am completely obsessed with anything to do with The Twilight Saga, well my latest thing is the Twilight Soundtrack, it has some cracking tracks, my particular favourites are Spotlight by Mute Math (never heard of them before), Supermassive Black Hole by Muse (have heard of them before), Tremble for my Beloved by Collective Soul (never heard of them either). These particular tracks are all a bit on the Rock side which suits both my sister Angel and I really well (Angel likes a bit of rock too), I will be looking further into Mute Math, Muse and Collective Soul for sure.

I have to say as soundtracks go this is one of the best I've heard, well worth a listen.

Why don't you try it, on Amazon you can have a listen.

Lemon Drizzle Cake

Having made a Lemon Drizzle Cake for my Sister in Law to take home for my Father in Law, Master M decided that I should make one for him, which I did.  It didn't last very long so today I have made him another, it is such an easy cake to make.

Here is the recipe if any of you fancy trying it.....

Cake ingredients:

4oz softened butter (make sure it's really soft)

6oz self raising flour

1tsp baking powder

6oz golden caster sugar

2 large eggs

6 tbsp milk

finely grated rind of a large unwaxed lemon

Icing:

juice of a large lemon

4oz golden caster sugar

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C/gas mark 4

2. Cake can be made in an oblong tin which measures 9" x 8", lined with baking parchment. could also be made in a round tin, 7 or 8" is fine.

3. Tip all cake ingredients into large mixing bowl and beat for 2-3 minutes; mixture will drop easily off spoon.

4. Spoon mixture into tin and smooth with back of spoon. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden and firm to the touch.

5. Beat together icing ingredients and pour over the cake while it is still HOT.

6. Cool in tin and cut into squares or slices.

Master M also likes it warm. Hope you enjoy it too.
